Swipe. Match. Ghost. Repeat. Sound familiar? - Switch Up Your Dating!

If you’ve spent any time on dating apps like Tinder, Bumble, or Hinge, you know the drill. The same profiles, the same small talk, and, more often than not, the same letdowns. It’s no wonder so many people are craving something different.

Welcome to Switch, the audio-based dating app built for intentional singles who are done wasting their time swiping and are looking for something real. Switch eliminates initial bias by not relying on curated selfies and witty bios as your first impression. By leading with conversation instead of looks, Switch lets your voice do the talking—literally. And from the buzz around their latest event in Atlanta, it’s clear people are ready for a fresh take on dating. In its first month of launching, the app received around 2,000 downloads.

To prove that connections can start with conversation, Switch hosted an in-person speed dating event on Valentines Day at Rock Steady in Atlanta. If you’ve never been, imagine an intimate Afrobeats lounge with cocktails and conversation flowing, the perfect setting to test out Switch’s real-time conversation approach IRL.

The event started promptly at 7 p.m. with cocktails and light bites. The speed dating commenced, giving each couple five minutes to spark a conversation. Participants kept track of their interests by filling out scorecards, which were collected at the end. If there was a match, Switch would reach out to set up a date. After the event, attendees took to the dance floor.

And the verdict? People loved it!

“Great selection of people, great vibes—I’d definitely come again.”

“It went better than expected. I’m new to speed dating, but I’d do it again.”

“Loved the Blackness of it all. Just wished we had more time to talk!”

The energy was radiant. No awkward silences, no one scrolling through their phones, no “get me out of here” vibes—just people genuinely engaged in conversation. Even when there wasn’t a romantic spark, attendees walked away with a good experience.

SERVING!, up laughter!

Who doesn’t love a cocktail and conversation!

Of course, no event is perfect. While attendees raved about the atmosphere and crowd, they had a few requests for next time:

More Time to Connect – Many felt the sessions were too short. A little extra time could mean deeper conversations and stronger connections.

Better Volume Control – Between the music and chatter, some found it a little loud for meaningful conversations. A quieter space might help.

Meet More People – Some wanted a format that allowed them to interact with everyone at the event, rather than just a select few.

More Curated Experiences – Some suggested events based on age groups (like 35+ singles) or relationship interests (romantic vs. friendship).

Swipe right? Nah, try sip right!

Table 38 is where the real connections were shaken, not stirred!

Switch is already taking notes. Future events may experiment with longer conversations, requiring a Switch profile, and even different themes, tailoring the experience to what people really want.

Switch is redefining what makes a connection meaningful. By prioritizing voice and conversation, the app offers a dating experience that feels more natural, engaging, and, most importantly, real.

Think about it: How many times have you swiped on someone, only to lose interest the second they sent you a dry “hey” or an awkward emoji? Or worse, how often have you matched with someone attractive but struggled to hold a conversation?

Voice-first changes the game!

A person’s tone, energy, and way of speaking reveal way more than a carefully edited photo ever could. A warm laugh? Instantly attractive. A confident, smooth voice? That’s a whole vibe. An engaging storyteller? Now we’re talking.

Here’s how it works: Switch’s matching algorithm pairs you with someone for a live conversation. The pictures stay blurred at first and are revealed as the conversation progresses. After each speed date, you’ll gain access to the other person’s full profile, and then you decide if you want to match.

Switch isn’t just another dating app—it’s an experience designed to help people connect on a deeper level. And judging by the response to their Atlanta event, people are making the switch.

Whether you’re looking for love, deep conversations, or just a fresh way to meet people, Switch is changing the dating game one conversation at a time.

Download the app and check out their next event, happening at Rock Steady on April 30 at 7 p.m.

See you soon,
Happy Dating!
