Bloom Bar “Bringing West African culture to Buckhead”

The Atlanta bar scene is getting new vibes, as Bloom Bar opens its doors.

Bloom Bar is a Ghana based nightlife experience coming into their 7th year of operation. Bloom Bar was started by college friends turned Co-Founders, Kofi Maafo and Keith Aweke. Both taking a heavy interest in hospitality and creating events that provide space for the middle class. Leading them to start Bloom Bar, which has now become a household name in Ghana.

Bloom Bar is opening their newest doors in Buckhead, Ga , which will be their first international location. Originally they were looking to launch their 1st international site in New York, only changing plans after they visited Atlanta, Ga. Keith Aweke said “ We feel the city will embrace what Bloom Bar has to offer”, attributed to Atlanta’s rich culture and large presence of black owned businesses. Judging from Bloom Bar’s thriving reputation they will blend right into the Atlanta nightlife scene, but serving a little twist.

Bloom Bar is offering a unique experience where guest can learn about and enjoy west African culture. Giving people an authentic African experience.

“We want everyone to see our architecture, taste our cuisine, enjoy our music, and energy” Said Kofi.

An immersive experience, in which Africans get to tell their story their way. An experience you would other wise have to travel for.

A very special component of the Atlanta location will be the artifact wall, that will display antiques and art significant to west African culture.

The hope is Bloom Bar will be a space where everyone feels welcome! This is why they are dedicated to having no VIP sections in their night clubs. Keith and Kofi want to create a space where everyone is someone.

“We want to change the industry, running a prestigious business truly focused on people coming together and having fun, not about image. “.

- Kofi Maafo

Interestingly enough, the recent buzz from the millennial and Gen Z Tik Toker‘s, has been focused on this exact topic. This energy is exactly what the people are looking for. Everyone seems to be over the “elitist culture” that seems to surround most nightlife environments.

From Brunch, special events and performances, to nightlife, Bloom Bar seems like it will be proudly welcomed in the melting pot that is Atlanta. Coming on the scene just in time for the spring rush. Although Bloom Bar is kicking off their international expansion in Atlanta, cities like New York and Los Angeles are soon to follow.

So stay on the look out for Bloom Bar and join in on the fun, and since we know you’ll love it! Spread the word.
